Admissions
Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome to Ardeley St Lawrence CofE School. I am delighted to welcome you to our website and our school.
We are a unique school with a wonderful family feel and, as a result of our size, we really can offer an individual approach.
At Ardeley we have mixed year groups, Nursery and Reception are the EYFS class, then Year 1 & 2, Year 3 & 4 and Year 5 & 6. My excellent, experienced staff plan lessons that cater for all the children in their class, using their interests alongside our rich and diverse curriculum. We are proud of our newly revised curriculum in which we also plan exciting opportunities and experiences. Please look at our Gallery for examples!
Despite being a small school we have excellent facilities, specialist staff for PE, French and our Forest School programme and we also offer wrap around care.
As we are a church school, we have strong links with the local church, St. Lawrence, where we regularly attend services. In addition we hold Harvest, Easter, Nativity and Leavers' Services there and parents are warmly welcomed to attend.
We work very closely with our parents, as part of our family centered approach. If you need to speak to a member of staff, please do not hesitate to contact us in person, in writing, by phone or email and we will respond as soon as we can. I am on the gate every morning if you would like to speak to me or arrange a time to discuss an issue confidentially.
We look forward to seeing you soon.
Mrs Young
Headteacher
It is always a pleasure to show prospective parents around the school - we have so much to offer. If you would like a tour please call the Office on 01438 861284 to arrange this.
If you decide to apply to Ardeley School you will need to complete the admissions form on the County Council website and a SIF, which you can download below or collect when you visit us.
Categories for admission:
As we are a Church school our Governors decide on the admissions policy and the categories used to rank applicants.
Ardeley School Governors have decided that no changes are necessary to their Admissions Policy for 22/23 & 23/24.
Children who have an Education, Health and Care Plan which names the school will be offered a place at the school before the oversubscription criteria are used.
In the event of there being more applications than available places in the Reception Class the oversubscription criteria detailed in the policy will be applied, in order.
